What is a EIP file?

An EIP file is a raster image created by Capture One, a professional photo-editing application often used in conjunction with Phase One digital cameras. It is a Zip-compressed file that contains a RAW image, as well as custom settings, .ICC profiles, and .LCC profiles.

More Information

EIP files are used for transferring digital photos to another computer while preserving all capture and editing information.

NOTE: To create an EIP file in Capture One, choose File → Pack as EIP from the program's menu. (In newer versions, instead select Image → Pack as EIP).

How to open a EIP file

You can open an EIP file in Phase One Capture One (Windows, Mac). To do so, open the program and select File → Unpack EIP. (In newer versions of Capture One, instead select Image → Unpack EIP.)

If you do not have access to Capture One, you can also open an EIP file as you would a .ZIP file. You may have to change the file's extension to .zip in order to open it as a ZIP file.
