What is a CHITUBOX file?
A CHITUBOX file is a project file created by Chitubox, a program used to prepare 3D models for 3D printing. It typically contains one or more 3D models, which have been arranged and edited for use with a 3D printer.

Using Chitubox, 3D printer users can import, arrange, edit, and slice 3D models for printing. While preparing one or more 3D models, users can save their current Chitubox project as a CHITUBOX file. This allows the user to continue editing the project (and the models it contains) in the future.
How to slice the models a CHITUBOX file contains
To slice the models a CHITUBOX file contains, open the file in Chitubox and then click the Slice button. This allows you to:
- Save your CHITUBOX file in one of several sliced formats (including Chitubox's .CBDDLP and .CTB formats)
- Directly transfer a sliced version of your CHITUBOX file to a connected 3D printer
NOTE: Chitubox is available in Basic and Pro versions. Both versions create and can open CHITUBOX files.
How to open a CHITUBOX file
You can open a CHITUBOX file with Chitubox. To do so:
- Select the program's sandwich menu (in the upper-left corner).
- Click Open Project.
- Navigate to and open your CHITUBOX file.

You can use Chitubox to convert the 3D models a CHITUBOX file contains to the following formats:

- Open your CHITUBOX file in Chitubox.
- Select the sandwich menu.
- Click Save As....
- Choose All Models or Selected Model.
- Select your desired export format.
- Click Save.
