What is an AVASTSOUNDS file?
An AVASTSOUNDS file is an audio pack used by Avast antivirus and internet protection software. It stores a collection of .WAV sound files the software plays when certain events occur in the software, such as a threat detection or completion of a virus scan.

Many soundpacks are available for download at the Avast website. Often these themes have humorous human speech audio, such as Redneck or Santa Claus voices. The audio packs are also available in multiple languages.
NOTE: Avast discontinued Pro Antivirus and Internet Security, and its software no longer utilizes AVASTSOUNDS files.
How to open an AVASTSOUNDS file
You can open an AVASTSOUNDS file by double-clicking the file (as long as the Avast software is already installed). After double-clicking the file, the Avast software installs the sound pack.
