What is an AFBOOK file?

An AFBOOK file is a book created by Serif Affinity Publisher that stores one or more documents as chapters. It is similar to an .AFPUB file but supports multiple AFPUB files and includes book-related information, such as the order of chapters, master pages, and styles. Affinity Publisher users often save projects as AFBOOK files that are more extensive than the typical brochure, invitation, flyer, etc., page layout projects.

How to save an AFBOOK file

To create an AFBOOK file, select File → New Book or select the hamburger icon in the Books panel (Window → Books), then choose New Book. You can then add documents and select Save Book or Save Book As... via the hamburger icon in the Books panel.

You can open an AFBOOK file with Serif Affinity Publisher in Windows and macOS. To open an AFBOOK file, select the hamburger icon in the Books panel (Window → Books), then choose Open Book.
