What is a 4FS file?

File system save file used by the fourth extended file system (EXT4) of Puppy Linux; stores the state of the file system at a specific point in time and can be used for resetting the file system back to that state; saved to an external file system partition, since Puppy Linux can run standalone off of a CD or .ISO file.

More Information

NOTE: The first digit of the save state file corresponds with the extended (EXT) filesystems used by Puppy Linux (e.g. .2FS, .3FS, and 4FS are used by EXT2, EXT3, and EXT4).
